The Muller’s Wheel serves as a metaphor for the synthesis and creativity Mueller applies to his musical influences. Cross-pollination, cyclical pilgrimages, the trial and error of improvisation, the process of theme and variations. “Müller’s Wheel” also fuses funk, jazz, philosophy and hope.
Edited and remastered by producer Kenny Cash, Factory Underground Studio, from the 2011 original version (from the album “The Muller’s Wheel”).
“Best of Tobin Mueller, Vol. 1” includes bop, funk, fusion, blues, New Orleans, world and big band, encapsulating Mueller’s long career. Other players featured include bass legend Ron Carter, Grammy winning guitarist Paul Nelson, saxophonist Donny McCaslin, trumpeter Carl Fisher (worked with Maynard Ferguson), plus many more.

“Tobin Mueller composes some of the freshest, well-crafted jazz tunes of the era. He adroitly combines post bop, fusion, funk and progressive Big Band in entertaining and unique ways.
